Community Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service – 7:00 pm November 27, 2013 – Stoystown Lutheran Church
Please visit our newly revised KUMC website. It is still under construction, but new features have already been added. We are now publishing an Announcements page, in case you missed something in worship. By clicking on the Calendar tab, you will see a real-time calendar which shows you everything on the church schedule. Finally, we have added a tab called Story Questions, which includes companion thought starters for each chapter of The Story. The location is the same, www.kantnerunitedmethodist.net. We have a new church secretary. Our new secretary is Debbie Zimmerman. Otherwise all the church office contact info remains the same. As parents, the Christian education of our children is one of our most important tasks. Your elementary age children can receive Christian instruction in the context of fun and friendship by coming to Kids 4 Jesus, a midweek children’s fun and learning group. Held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm., all kids age 3 through 5th grades are invited to attend. Contact Jodell Zimmerman (814-893-5493) if you have any questions. A dinner will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm at the Coal Miner’s Café in Jennerstown to benefit the Next Step Center in Somerset. Thank You I want to thank everyone for all your prayers, love and compassion you have shared and given the past few months. What a blessing you have been. Your support and God's healing mercy have given me strength and hope. Our God is awesome and I think KUMC is also pretty awesome too!! Thank you so much!! Marlene K. Putman Dear Friends! We are grateful for the loving compassion you have expressed in word and deed throughout the illness and recent death of our beloved mother (and mother-in-law) Jane Beachem. We love you. Pastor Dennis & Debbie. Jeannie Weible, our guest speaker today (11-3-13), is a certified lay speaker and a long-time member of the Kantner United Methodist Church. Jeannie leads our toddlers class during the Sunday School hour and also on Wednesday evenings at Kids 4 Jesus. She regularly leads worship at Richland Towers and Arbutus Park Manor.
Today (11-3-13), we discuss the book of Ruth with Chapter 9 of The Story. Next week we will be studying chapter 10, which is based on the Bible’s 1 Samuel. KFC is junior church for children which takes place Sunday mornings during the worship hour. Children should first come to the sanctuary to experience the beginning of worship. They will be dismissed for KFC when the congregation begins to sing the first hymn. It is important that the children do not go to the KFC room until the adult supervision arrives at that time. Included are: Biblical activities, games, crafts and much more based on the study called “The Story”. Also, KFC will be making Christmas ornaments after each lesson in October and November.
