Jeri Penrod, our guest speaker today, grew up near Jennerstown and in the Jennerstown United Methodist church, where he was active in youth and attended many events at Camp Allegheny and Jumonville. After graduating from North Star High School and UPJ, he moved to Columbus where he met his future wife. They later returned to Jennerstown. Jeri continues to work for NHS Human Services as he responds to a call to ministry. He is currently working through the pastoral candidacy process and is looking forward to the path God has opened for him and his family. Today, we discuss the book of Judges with Chapter 8 of The Story . KFC is junior church for children which takes place Sunday mornings during the worship hour. Children should first come to the sanctuary to experience the beginning of worship. They will be dismissed for KFC when the congregation begins to sing the first hymn. It is important that the children do not go to the KFC room until the adult supervision arrives at that time. Included are: Biblical activities, games, crafts and much more based on the study called “The Story”. Also, KFC will be making Christmas ornaments after each lesson in October and November. As parents, the Christian education of our children is one of our most important tasks. Your elementary age children can receive Christian instruction in the context of fun and friendship by coming to Kids 4 Jesus, a midweek children’s fun and learning group. Held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm., all kids age 3 through 5th grades are invited to attend. Contact Jodell Zimmerman (814-893-5493) if you have any questions.
